The Ruins of Castle Moorfathom
The adventurers, with the help of The Hermit, discover that Duke Adrian is himself responsible for the disappearance of his son, Edmund. Duke Adrian sacrificed his son for a place within Iuz’s court. This reward for the Duke’s treachery came with a bonus: Iuz spat in his face, the spittle being so toxic that it ate through much of the Duke’s nose and lips.
The adventurers also found a magically animated marionette within the Duke’s quarters. The doll was of unusual importance to the Duke; it, in fact, was the Duke. There is no telling how long the Duke had been possessed or whether or not he was a just ruler before the loss of his will. It’s a safe bet that the marionette was sent by Iuz The Old to weaken the Duke and thereby weaken his fief. Perhaps the doll was sent as a gift for the Duke’s son.
