The Ruins of Castle Moorfathom
The creek carries its waters all the way to the village of Drua, which gradually comes into view, from behind the tree covered hills, one cottage at a time. The bleating of gutes and the calls of their shepherds can be heard from a ways off…cottages and huts line both sides of the creek which forks after a furlong or so. The east branch curls around the base of a steep hill, welling up and running over a waterwheel, while the west branch runs shallowly over a ford. A few acres have been devoted to crops, in the thin valley at the base of the village’s three hills, but the bulk of the land is used for grazing. A dirt road emerges from behind the northernmost hill and heads south, crossing the creek at a broad and sturdy-looking wooden bridge, then running east across the ford.
